About the Date
As chance has it, we met the lovely woman you see below during one of our Date Niite outings. Out of pure curiosity she came along with her sister (one of our photographers) to help document the evening. By the end of the night, the duo made for great party companions. They were both friendly, unassuming, and pleasantly spunky. But don't be fooled, they were ever the consummate professionals and brought home some terrific photos. Naturally, we knew we had to coax one of them onto the other side of the lens. And we did. Over Thanksgiving weekend we shot over an invite text which was accepted immediately. Bringing along her boyfriend, who was totally game, we had another couple ready to show up and see what was in store for them.
The Kennedy Center is tragically underutilized by a large population of the city. This institution is distinctly DC and offers an unparalleled selection of performances. Broadway plays, the National Symphony Orchestra, the Washington National Opera, ballet, concerts, special events, and the list goes on. The Millennium Stage offers daily world-class performances that are 100% free to the public starting at 6:00pm. Check it out. Can't beat it with a stick.
Our couple arrived super early (kudos to them) and explored at the own leisure.
Like we said.... super early.
Our couple received tickets to a screening of Home Alone with the score played live by none other than the National Symphony Orchestra and the Coral Arts Society of Washington at the Concert Hall stage. This performance celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the Christmas classic. Our couple grabbed their popcorn and headed in for a trip down memory lane with a full orchestra in tow.
No photographers were allowed in the concert hall but we imagine this was pretty close to the view.
